LINEUP: Hannah Vivian-Byrne (vocals), Ayo Vincent (Piano), Linus Fenton (Double Base)

The HVB Trio on Sunday is a great Festival treat and not to be missed. A true Welsh talent and already acclaimed jazz star, vocalist Hannah brings her wonderful lineup of Ayo Vincent on piano and Linus Fenton on double bass to create a totally unforgettable evening of beautiful classic jazz. As well as material from the American Songbook, Hannah is influenced by a love for the voices of Sarah Vaughan, Ella and Billie Holiday. Hannah’s original material caught the attention of the BBC and in 2015 she was selected as BBC Wales Horizons artist. She has received tremendous support from BBC Wales as well as BBC Radio 2’s Dermot O’Leary.

In September Hannah embarked on her first UK headline tour. Her eagerly awaited debut album is expected in 2017. Be there to say you discovered Hannah Vivian-Byrne at Brecon Jazz this year! Hannah graduated from The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama with a First in Jazz vocals and performance. As well has her studies Hannah has toured extensively throughout the UK and has to date released two EPs of original material.

Delighted to be joining the trio and to be returning to Wales to perform with the band is talented Ayo Vincent on piano, also a recent Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama graduate. Ayo and his own lineup recently played a well-received date at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff. Now based in London, he playing regularly, including at the ‘Kings Place’ and the ‘606 Club’ under the guidance of his mentor Julian Joseph.

Linus Fenton joins the trio on double bass, having recently completed tours the UK as well as performing in Europe and Australia. He has also made national TV and Radio appearances and played at various major festivals, including Glastonbury and Isle of Wight Festival. Linus has appeared with with Huw Warren, Iain Ballamy and Scott Stroman and toured with pianist Philip Clouts (for Brecon Jazz Club). Linus recently graduated from RWCMD with First Class Honours in Jazz.
